The Grand Daddy of the East Coast Concours, the Concours d’Elegance of the Eastern United States celebrated its 20th Anniversary Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31, 2009, on the campus of Northampton Community College. Crystal trophy winners from the previous 19 years including poster cars and best of show honorees were invited back in a celebration of the “best of the best,” making for a spectacular showfield they envy of any national concours. The event began with an ealry welcome reception Friday evening. Saturday included a road tour, private collection tour, and a gala dinner at the Northampton Country Club with special guest Janet Guthrie. Sunday featured both Club Day and the Concours d’Elegance. Oftentimes referred to as the Burn Foundation Concours, the event is the oldest of its kind on the East coast. It has the distinction of all cars displayed being paraded past the reviewing stand while providing those in attendance with both a sight and sound spectacle as well as a narrated history of each car.
